Casino Royale 2006 Film Review

James Bond fans arguably the most popular James Bond right now is Daniel Craig and well then with the actor having recently quit the role of James Bond. I thought that now was the absolutely right time to take a look back at his very first James Bond film and so then join me as I review the film that launched Daniel Craigs career into the stratosphere with the film in question being called simply just "Casino Royale" enjoy.

The plot of this film is newly appointed 00 James Bond is tasked with taking down a terrorist financier by beating him at a game of poker. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot being genuinely quite engaging in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring in this film is of course Daniel Craig as James Bond and of course we also have Dame Judi Dench as M. These two are the only two actors who are playing MI6 regulars in this film and for it's worth they both do a really job at portraying their respective characters with Dame Judi Dench of course turning in a really good performance and the same thing can also be said for Daniel Craig as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Starring as part of this film guest cast are Eva Green as Vesper Lynd , Mads Mikkelsen as Le Chiffre and Giancarlo Giannini as René Mathis. Also starring in this film is Jesper Christensen as Mr. White , Tobias Menzies as Villiers , Isaach De Bankolé as Steven Obanno , Simon Abkarian as Alex Dimitrios , Ivana Miličević as Valenka , Caterina Murino as Solange Dimitrios , Sébastien Foucan as Mollaka , Claudio Santamaria as Carlos and Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with all of this cast members turning in some really good performances in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then this films Bond girl is of course Vesper Lynd who is of course being played by the wonderfully stunning Eva Green. I know that this is going to sound rather controversial but I don't like this character all that much simply because of the fact that to me she's not that interesting of a character since there's no real danger to her life if she's seen with Bond and that makes her feel more like a safe bet kind of character and on top of all that we're not really given any kind of reason to connect with this character at all all of which makes her a fairly freaking dull character in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the production design for this film is of course Peter Lamont whose work on the James Bond films I have very mixed feelings about. With his work on this film being OK at best for me personally since none of the sets that he created for this film as lavish as they are don't look like that they belong in a James Bond they instead rather look like that they could have been in any other film except a James Bond film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

What I really did like about this film was the fact that we got to see how James Bond became a 00 agent. Since that was an aspect of his life that up until this film had never been explored or even explained in the films and shooting that sequence in black and white really did add to the overall experience of that sequence since James Bond himself always sees things as black and white nothing is ever shaded grey for him and so to have this one sequence of the film be in black really did make sense to me personally in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

All throughout this film we see how James Bond gets all of the things that we as fans would normally associate with his character. However we never get to see how the rest of the MI6 regulars are brought into the picture and that is something that has always bugged me as they are a huge part of Bonds world and of Bonds life and so to have them make an appearance in what is his essentially origin story film would have made alot of sense and it would have worked really well within the context of the film as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This is something that some of you might not even notice but all throughout the film we never hear the classic James Bond theme at least not in full. That is until we get to the final scene we're we also get to hear the famous greeting in all of cinema and it really does make sense that the James Bond theme song would be saved until that moment as that is the moment that Bond becomes Bond and as such having the James Bond theme song play at that exact moment is just the absolutely perfect way to cap of this film and to send the fans home happy in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the opening titles for this film is of course the great Daniel Kleinman who did the opening titles for all of the Daniel Craig James Bond films. I have to admit that I really did like the opening titles that Daniel Kleinman created for this film since this films opening titles were not only very visually impressive but they also did a good job of telling us that this Bond is a vastly different Bond from what has come before us in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

The title song for this film is called "You Know My Name" and is sung rather wonderfully by the late Chris Cornell. The song itself was both really well written and was also really well sung and I really liked the fact that this song is alot more of a rock song that what has come before us as that really does fit in with this new harder edged Bond and it really does help that the song is a really good song as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film does a really good job of making the game of poker that Bond plays feel really tense which is something that would be hard to pull of in a card game. Yet it's something that this film manages to pull of effortlessly and that's great because a large portion of this film is spent with Bond playing poker and so it has be entertaining because the whole film relies on this one card game being entertaining because if this card game isn't entertaining to watch then you've lost your audience already in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then while I cannot for the absolute life of me remember whatever this films running time was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of roughly two hours and eighteen minuets. Which for the most part is a solid running time for this film to have but the film comes to a shuddering halt when and Bond and Vesper are sailing to Italy because that one bit of the film just kills any and all momentum that the film had going for it and it also adds nothing to overall plot of the film and as such it's a scene that should have been cut from the final cut of the film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now then since this film is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film and well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this filmmaking great use of practical effects to help to sell the action that we get in this film and it really did work as the action that we get in this film is so much better then what we got in Die Another Day for example in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this film is a great introduction to not only a new James Bond but for also new fans of the franchise as we are seeing the character at the very beginning of his journey and that makes it the perfect entry point for new fans in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 7.5 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official James Bond fandom wiki page , Wikipedia and Google Images. With my personal favourite website to use to get the images that I used in this very review being the official James Bond fandom wiki page just simply due to the fact that pretty much all of the images that are featured / presented to us and are currently up and also on the official James Bond fandom wiki page are all fairly high quality and as well as being fairly high definition and well then boys and girls just freaking like James Bond I will return.

The Spy Who Loved Me Film Review

Even tho the James Bond film franchise is pretty much box office gold today it wasn't always the case as back in the mid seventies the franchise was on the verge of dying out. With both Live And Let Die and The Man With The Golden Gun not getting really that good reviews and not doing that good at the office coupled with the fact that franchise co-producer Harry Saltzman had some serious debts of his own to pay off there really was alot of pressure on this film to succeed to prove to people that James Bond really can survive outside out of the sixties and so then join me as I review the film saved the James Bond franchise with the film in question being called simply just "The Spy Who Loved Me" enjoy. The plot of this film is James Bond is tasked with teaming up a Russian spy in order to stop a reclusive megalomaniac from creating a new world under the sea.
