The Living Daylights Film Review

James Bond fans whenever I do one of these James Bind film reviews I very usually stick to the James Bond actors that like. Simply because of the fact that even in their worst James Bond films they'll always be a highlight for me personally however with this review I chose to step outside of my comfort zone just a tad and do a review of a James Bond film that I barely watch and so then join me as I review the film that introduced the whole world to a brand new version of the James Bond character with the film in character being called simply just "The Living Daylights" enjoy.

The plot of this film is James Bond is sent to investigate a KGB policy to kill all enemy spies and uncovers an arms deal that potentially has major global ramifications. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad however this films plot is also rather forgettable as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Of course this film is of course the first film to feature Timothy Dalton as James Bond and is also the first film to feature Caroline Bliss as Miss Moneypenny. Also starring in this film is Desmond Llewelyn as Q , Robert Brown as M , Walter Gotell as General Anatol Gogol and Geoffrey Keen as Sir Frederick Gray. Now then interms if what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty not that bad with all of the MI6 regulars doing a good job acting wise in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Also starring in this film is Maryam d'Abo as Kara Milovy , Joe Don Baker as Brad Whitaker and Art Malik as Kamran Shah. Also starring in this film is John Rhys-Davies as General Leonid Pushkin , Jeroen Krabbé as General Georgi Koskov , Andreas Wisniewski as Necros , Thomas Wheatley as Saunders , Julie T. Wallace as Rosika Miklos and John Terry as Felix Leiter. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with all of this films cast turning in some really good performances in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This films Bond girl is of course Kara Milovy who is played rather well by the seriously stunning Maryam d'Abo. I have to admit that I found this character to be rather flat and boring since there's so little that's actually interesting about her that it makes her character come across as being boring which is a shame because on paper her character should work but she just doesn't work as a character in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

As I mentioned at the very start of this very review this film does see the introduction of a new Miss Moneypenny and while Lois Maxwell well never be topped as the character. Actress Caroline Bliss does the best the she can do in what very scenes that she's in and while she is indeed decent in the part I hated that they made Miss Moneypenny somebody who is in love with James Bond as that just makes her another love interest for James Bond and nothing more then that in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This is a shame because Lois Maxwell never wanted the character of Miss Moneypenny to be somebody who was in love with James Bond. As such it seems out of place for this character for this character to be head over heels in love with James Bond and it comes across as the writers of this film just couldn't come up with anything for this character to do in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the production design for this is Peter Lamont and well then I actually liked the sets that he created for this film. Since even tho the sets that he created for this film aren't as big and outlandish as you'd expect to see in a James Bond film here that oddly works in this films favour since this is a much more darker version and so having sets that aren't big and that aren't outlandish in this case oddly work for this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

People say that Daniel Craig was the first actor to do a much more darker take on the James Bond character. To that I say watch this film because it was being done well before Daniel Craig took on the role of James Bond since we see Bond do alot of things in this film that just wouldn't be seen in the Sir Roger Moore James Bond but would be very common place in the Daniel Craig films in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Just like with Octopussy however where as Octopussy made it very clear who the main villain this one despite having alot of villains never makes it clear who the main villain of the film even is. Since all of the potential main villains in this film could all pass for being the main villain and as such it makes it hard for us to connect to any of villains characters since we are all still trying to work out who the main villain in this film even is in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Not really helping things is the fact that none of this films potential villains are all that interesting and so what your left with at the end of the day. is a film that has way to many villains with none of which being all that memorable or even interesting and such I gave to say that if you made Whittaker the main villain then this film would have been all the more better since you've only got one villain to focus one and so then you can make him as evil and as villainess as you really want him to be in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Doing the opening titles for this film is course James Bond opening title creator the late Maurice Binder. However I have to say that the opening titles that he created for this film where just rather bland which is a very sadly a common thing with nearly all of the James Bond opening titles that were created in the nineteen eighties and that really shouldn't be the case since the James Bond opening titles are usually very creative and are something that every single James Bond fan looks forward to seeing in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

The opening title song for this film was also called "The Living Daylights" and was sung by British pop band A-Ha. I'm not going to lie here i'm not the biggest fan of this song since to me it ages the film quite alot since once we entered the nineteen nineties next to nobody was taking about A-Ha and so having them singing this films opening theme song just dates the film quite alot and not to mention the fact that this films opening song was quite a bad song in it's own right in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

This film would also be the final ever James Bond film that composer John Barry would ever work on since he wouldn't work on the next film and from Goldeneye onwards the composers would be replaced on a film by film basis. Which in this case is a good thing just because John Barry's scores as iconic as they are were starting to get a little repetitive and so they really did need a change of composer just to keep things new and fresh and exciting in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Now then while I cannot remember whatever this films grand total exact running time even was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had a grand total running time of roughly two hours and five minuets. Which really did flyby for since the pacing for this film was so good but I can't help but feel that this film should have been at the very least ten minuets shorter since there's not really that much there interms of either plot or story in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

So now the since this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty jot that bad. Heck i'd even go as far as to say that the action that we got to see in this film was some of the best action that we got to see in all of the James Bond franchise at this point in time in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this isn't a bad film for Timothy Dalton to debut with but at the same time I got the sense that they were still trying to figure his version of James Bond and that really did hurt the film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very film erns itself a grand old score of exactly a 6 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as ladies and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from Wikipedia , the official James Bond fandom wiki page and Google Images. With my personal favourite website to use to get the images that I used in this very review being the official James Bond fandom wiki page just simply due to the fact that pretty much all of the images that are featured / presented to us and are currently up and also on the official James Bond fandom wiki page are all fairly high quality and as well as being fairly high definition and well then boys and girls just freaking like James Bond I will return.

The Spy Who Loved Me Film Review

Even tho the James Bond film franchise is pretty much box office gold today it wasn't always the case as back in the mid seventies the franchise was on the verge of dying out. With both Live And Let Die and The Man With The Golden Gun not getting really that good reviews and not doing that good at the office coupled with the fact that franchise co-producer Harry Saltzman had some serious debts of his own to pay off there really was alot of pressure on this film to succeed to prove to people that James Bond really can survive outside out of the sixties and so then join me as I review the film saved the James Bond franchise with the film in question being called simply just "The Spy Who Loved Me" enjoy. The plot of this film is James Bond is tasked with teaming up a Russian spy in order to stop a reclusive megalomaniac from creating a new world under the sea.
