Goldfinger Film Review

James Bond is the franchise that will never die as there will always be someone out there willing to reboot these iconic films and try again. As iconic as alot of these films in someway shape or form there is none that is more iconic then the film that i'm about to review for you all today as this film is the quintessential James Bond film and is the film that alot of people think of when they think of the James Bond franchise as this film really is just that iconic and so then join me as I review the film that set the gold standard for all of the other James Bonds to follow it with the film in question being called simply just "Goldfinger" enjoy.

The plot of this film is James Bond is tasked with stopping the psychopathic Auric Goldfinger from contaminating the gold in Fort Knox. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual plot that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with this films plot not only holding up almost sixty years later but also being rather entertaining and thrilling with this films plot also being rather engaging as well in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Of course this film stars the late Sir Sean Connery as James Bond , Bernard Lee as M , Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny and Desmond Llewelyn as Q. Now then interms of what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty I in all honesty personally thought /felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good with all of the MI6 regulars turning in some really good performances with all really doing their usual shtick really well which is to be expected as those characters are written really well with M , Miss Moneypenny and Q getting some decent amount of screen time in this film.

Also starring in this film is Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore , Gert Fröbe as Auric Goldfinger and Michael Collins as The Voice Of Auric Goldfinger. Also starring in this film is Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson , Tania Mallet as Tilly Masterson , Harold Sakata as Oddjob , Martin Benson as Mr Solo , Cec Linder as Felix Leiter , Austin Willis as Mr Roy Simmons , Burt Kwouk as Mr Ling , Margaret Nolan as Dink and Nadja Regin as Bonita, Now then interms f what I personally thought / felt about the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual acting that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was n all honesty really good with all of this films cast members turning some rather solid performances.

The main Bond Girl for this film is Pussy Galore who is played by the seriously stunning Honor Blackman. I have to admit that as a character Pussy Galore really isn't all that interesting as the character really has nothing all that interesting about her other then the fact that she's a pilot and that's it which is a shame because Honor Blackman is a really good actress but her character in this film just isn't that good as she could have been which is a sham e as the film really could have done something more interesting with her character given her incredibly close relationship with Auric Goldfinger  and yet for some reason the film just chose to do nothing with her character which just makes her seem like a really flat and boring and boring character.

While Honor Blackman does play our main bond girl our secondary bond girl could possibly by Tilly Masterson who is played the really stunning Tania Mallet. I have to admit that while the idea for her character is a really solid idea the film just wastes her character however where as that might be seen as a bad thing in a lesser film in this film it's a good thing as the film is all about misdirection and so having her character not only be related to the films first victim but also be killed of so soon after we meet her was a good idea as it lets us the audience know that this film is going to trick you and keep you on your toes.

Out of the two characters I very much preferred Pussy Galore over Tilly Masterson just because of the fact that we got to spend more time with her. However with that being said the idea behind Tilly as a character is more better then the idea behind Pussy Galore was as the idea of someone actively seeking revenge on the films villain for killing someone close to them does set up an interesting character arc where they would have to learn that getting revenge on someone doesn't mean that you'll be happy and may infact cause you more harm in the long run which is something that could have made for an interesting character arc in this film even more so if the character in question was really given as much screen time as say Pussy Galore was for example.

This film is filled to the brim with firsts as we have the first proper pre-title scene and the first proper Q branch scene. With this being topped of by the fact that this is film where we first meet the Aston Martin DB5 all of which serve to make this film a classic as those are the elements that we associate with the James Bond films and while From Russia With Love did have a pre title scene it really didn't have much of a Q branch which is a shame because it's in that Q brand branch that we get to see what Q really thinks of James Bond which is always fun to see and the films pre title scene is a scene that serves is purpose of really getting you exited for the main film whilst also setting up the fact that Bond is in Miami in order to get some rest after his current mission.

When I say that this film is truly iconic I mean it in every sense of the word as not only does it feature the Aston Martin DB5 amongst many other things. It also features the iconic scene of Jill's dead body lying on a bed painted head to toe in gold paint which to day s perhaps the most iconic image to come out of a James Bond film and it's not hard to see why as it shows us just how ruthless Auric Goldfinger really is and on top of all of that it's also a really shocking scene with her death really coming out of nowhere and why her death could have been avoided just by having Bond take her to his room that doesn't take away fro the fact that the scene does it's purpose of letting you just how deadly this new villain when he really wants to be.

Doing the production for this film is Sir Ken Adam and if you've seen any of these reviews by now then you'll know exactly what i'm about to say next. As his work on this film is truly phenomenal with all of the huge sets that he created for this film with the best looking set in this film being the Fort Knox as that set is just truly stunning ti look at and is really a better looking set then alot of the sets that we got n most of the modern James Bond films which just goes to show you that Sir Ken Adam really understand the world of James Bond as he knew that the sets for a James Bond had to be large and over the top as James Bond himself lives in a very over the top world which means that having large sets in these films would really only make sense as they would fit in really perfectly with the world of James Bond.

While alot of people really don't like the fact that James Bond spends alot of his time in this film being captured by the villain. That is part of the point of the film as it only serves to add to add tension to the film as it means that at any moment James Bond himself could be shot and killed and while it is understandable where those people are coming from to have a film that gives you this much tension just by having its main hero captured and stay captured for the vast majority of the film only goes to show that this films villain is a serious to James Bond and that Bond will have to try and outwit this films villain anyway that he can do just to get by day to day as he could be killed of at any minuet which adds alot of tension to the film.

Doing the opening titles for the final time is Robert Brownjohn with regular James Bond titles creator Maurice Binder returning for the next film. The opening titles for this film were really nice Robert Brownjohn really perfecting what he tried to with the opening titles in the previous film by having images projected onto female bodies and while the titles for this film are just as iconic as the film itself there just not as visually impressive as they perhaps could have been which is a shame as they are alot better then alot of the title that Maurice Binder would come up in his later James Bond film with the images being chosen really do represent the film perfectly and the open being titles really do match the tone of not only the films opening title but also matching the tone of the film in general as well.

Doing the opening title song for this film is of course Dame Shirley Bassey, with the sing itself also being called Goldfinger. Out of the three songs that she did for this franchise this song is easily one of her more better ones and it's also certainly her most iconic one as she does sing the song really well and song itself is also really well written however I will admit that the song itself is a bit to loud at the start which is kind of off putting and is something that really isn't needed in the actual song itself however on the flip side of that I really can't imagine the opening of this song being anything but loud as it is a shocking way to start the song as it really does wake you up and I love the fact that the song goes to grate lengths just to tell us that Auric Goldfinger is such a really bad person as that really such an in credibly ingenious idea.

For as much as I really do love this film I have admit that the idea of Auric Goldfinger killing off all of those criminals really does make sense at all. AS they really could have helped him out alot more on the day that he was planning to  rob Fort Knox with all except Mr. Solo looking like they were really interested in his scheme which intern would have mean that he would have gotten more business as they/'d want to work with him more often due to the fact that if his scheme had worked he would have made them a ton of money and yet he killed them all for quite literally no reason yes a point could be made that he wanted to keep all of the money for himself but there was nothing in the way that he acted nor in what he says that backs any of that and so him killing off all of those criminals really does make sense in the grand scheme of things.

Now as I really cannot for the absolutely life of me remember what ever this films grand total even was I do know that for a fact that this film has / had an exact grand total running time of exactly one hour and forty five minuets. Which does make it one of the more shorter Sir Sean Connery James Bond films and to this films credit it really does have more then enough there interms of plot to cover that large amount of running with no screen in this film feeling like a filler scene as they all added something to the overall plot of the film altho I would have liked it if Pussy Galore was given some character development shown on screen instead of it happening off screen and I will admit that this film really does have some really good pacing to it.

So now then as this is an action film that means that I have to actually talk about the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film well then in all honest i in all honesty personally thought / felt that the actual action that's actually featured / presented to us in this very film was in all honesty really good. With this film having some truly good looking action scenes and while yes there are bound to be a few not so good looking action scenes in this film those are very few and between with the film having some mostly good and very exciting action scenes with the best example of this being the fight James Bond and Oddjob near the end of the film which is a really tense and yet at the same time a very enjoyable action scene to see playout in this film in my freaking opinions anyways / at least.

Overall this really is one of if not the greatest James Bond film ever made as it gives you everything that you'd both want and expect from a James Bond film and then some in my freaking opinion anyways / at least. Now then i've talked about all of the good and as well as all of the bad things that are in this very film in this very review and as such that means that this very very film earns itself a grand old score of exactly an 8 out of 10 from me.

Now then as for where I personally got all of the mages that I personally used in this very review well then boys and girls and as well as lades and gentlemen I personally got all of the images that I personally used in this very review from the official James Bond fandom wiki page , IMP Awards . Com and Google Images. With my personal favorite website to use to get the images that I used in this very review being the official James Bond fandom wiki page just simply due to the fact that pretty much all of the images that are featured / presented to us and are currently up and also on the official James Bond fandom wiki page are all fairly high quality and as well as being fairly high definition and well then boys and girls just freaking like James Bond I will return.

The Spy Who Loved Me Film Review

Even tho the James Bond film franchise is pretty much box office gold today it wasn't always the case as back in the mid seventies the franchise was on the verge of dying out. With both Live And Let Die and The Man With The Golden Gun not getting really that good reviews and not doing that good at the office coupled with the fact that franchise co-producer Harry Saltzman had some serious debts of his own to pay off there really was alot of pressure on this film to succeed to prove to people that James Bond really can survive outside out of the sixties and so then join me as I review the film saved the James Bond franchise with the film in question being called simply just "The Spy Who Loved Me" enjoy. The plot of this film is James Bond is tasked with teaming up a Russian spy in order to stop a reclusive megalomaniac from creating a new world under the sea.
